AFIMAC Canada is seeking experienced Power Line Technicians for an upcoming, temporary assignment in Eastern Canada.This position will require you to work up to 16 hour shifts, 5-7 days per week when assigned to a project.You will earn:$100.00 per hour before overtimeHotel Accommodations Provided (when required)$50 per day non-taxed meal allowance (when lodging is required)Paid Travel (up to 4 hours)Flight provided (if required)Contract Duration: 1 - 120 daysJob Responsibilities (including but not limited to):Construct, maintain and operate electrical overhead and underground sub-transmission, distribution and other systems including distribution vaults.Install, test, commission, maintain and de-commission all medium and high voltage equipment including, but not limited to insulators, conductors, transformers, regulators, re-closures, capacitors, air break switches, circuit switches, fused cutouts, lightning arrestors, cable systems and automated distribution switches.Perform live-line work on overhead and underground systems.Respond to emergency system conditions, perform diagnosis troubleshooting, repair and replacement of equipment to ensure the safe operation and restoration of power to customers and assist first responders and to provide an electrically safe work area.Closing Switches, energizing lines and installation and removal of grounds.Repair ground conductors,Install, remove and transfer triplexed, open services and transformersClear trees from power linesCollaborate with other departments as required to ensure secure and efficient operationsPerforms all required duties safely, efficiently and within required housekeeping,
safety and environmental standardsRespond to emergency situations, providing timely and appropriate resolutionPerform other duties as assignedRequired Education, Skills and QualificationsTo be eligible to work for AFIMAC you must be able to meet the following criteria:High school diploma or equivalentHold a valid 434A Certification (preferred)Have a valid AZ license or Class 3 license with Condition 15Minimum 1 year experience as a PLTExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsComfortable with a fast-paced environmentSelf-starter with an ability to work with limited supervisionExcellent sense of urgency, work ethic and attendance recordAble and willing to work up to 16 hour days or 12-hour shifts 7 days per week while on assignmentAble to sit, walk, stand, and/or drive for extended periods of timeAble to work extended hoursAble to work day or night shiftsLift up to 50lbsAble to read, write and speak English effectivelyA Canadian resident and/or legally allowed to work within CanadaAFIMAC is a global risk management and elite security company.
