With over 1,700 employees across 44 locations in North America, we provide exciting employment opportunities that can drive your future growth.Join us at Inland Truck & Equipment and go ALL IN on a career that has it all.This position is located at our sales and service dealership in Nanaimo, BC.THE OPPORTUNITYThe Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician will be responsible for repairing and maintaining heavy duty equipment including construction and forestry equipment.YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.Analyzes customers’ equipment performance complaints, diagnoses cause of any malfunctions, and performs repair.Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.Examines assigned equipment todetermineif further safety or service work isrequiredor recommended.Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.Testsequipment whenrequired.Maintains company service truck, ensuring it is kept clean and in good repair, including keeping the MVI current.Becomes familiar with and complies with the company’s Health & Safety Manual.WHAT WE LOOK FORQualification as a Licensed Heavy Duty Equipment Technician essential,



Red Seal Journeyperson preferredFive years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceBasicComputer skillsto access andutilizerequired computer systems and toolsAnalyzes customers’ equipment performance complaints, diagnoses cause of any malfunctions, and performs repair.Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.Examines assigned equipment todetermineif further safety or service work isrequiredor recommended.Communicates with service advisor/shopforemanor lead hand,immediately, ifadditionalwork is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.Testsequipment whenrequired.Participates in manufacturer sponsored training programs, schools, and events.Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.Keeps shop area neat and clean after each repair.
