Atira believes a job is more than a paycheque – it’s an opportunity to contribute to meaningful social change.What You’ll DoAssist in preparing performance management documentation and support managers in understanding processes and expectations.Assist with workplace investigations, including coordinating interviews and preparing supporting materials.Maintain accurate records, update tracking systems and ensure documentation is complete and organized.Support creation and delivery of training materials and resources.Collaborate with the broader People & Culture team, Payroll and Operations, and provide responsive support on Labor Relation matters.What You BringStrong organizational skills, accuracy, and ability to manage multiple tasks.Fact‑finding and investigative skills,



with a willingness to learn advanced techniques.Ability to assess situations objectively, apply critical thinking, and make informed, logical decisions.Ability to apply high confidentiality and exercise discretion.Explicit and professional communication skills.A growth mindset, openness to feedback, and enthusiasm for professional development.Ability to build positive relationships and work respectfully with diverse people, including BIPOC, LGBTQ2S+, First Nations, newcomers and people with disabilities.QualificationsDiploma or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.1–2 years of HR experience with exposure to employee and union relations (e.G., supporting investigations, attending grievance meetings as note‑taker, preparing documentation, assisting with performance management), preferably in a unionized environment.Familiarity with HRIS systems (e.G., UKG/UltiPro), ticketing/tracking systems, and a demonstrated interest in professional development with a desire to progress within Employee and Union Relations toward a Specialist position.COVID‑19 (including booster) and flu vaccinations are recommended.All positions are subject to a criminal record check (paid by Atira), including a vulnerable sector check.Equal OpportunityAtira Women’s Resource Society is committed to employment equity and encourages applications from all qualified individuals.
