Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing – Technology

$60–$70/hr INC | Toronto | Hybrid – 4 Days Onsite | Contract

Seeking a highly experienced Strategic Sourcing professional to lead complex, high-value technology sourcing initiatives within a large financial services organization. This is a hands-on sourcing and contract negotiation role, not a purchasing or vendor management position.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives for complex technology categories.
- Develop sourcing, negotiation and contracting strategies for high-risk and high-value engagements.
- Lead $5M+ complex deal negotiations with technology suppliers.
- Draft, author, review and negotiate commercial contract terms.
- Determine appropriate involvement of Legal and governance teams during negotiations.
- Lead RFI, RFQ, RFP and direct negotiation processes.
- Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders on sourcing decisions.
- Develop category strategies, sourcing pipelines and negotiation playbooks.
- Drive measurable cost savings, cost avoidance and overall supplier value.
- Analyze commercial and financial data and present recommendations to senior management.

Must Have

- 10–15 years of procurement/strategic sourcing experience – purchasing experience alone will not qualify.
- Minimum 5 years of Technology Sourcing experience.
- Demonstrated experience independently leading complex $5M+ contract negotiations.
- Strong, hands-on contract drafting,



authoring and editing experience.
- Experience negotiating commercial terms independently and partnering appropriately with Legal on legal terms.
- Strong knowledge of specific technology sourcing categories – these must be clearly demonstrated on the resume.
- Experience leading senior-level, cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Post-secondary education and/or relevant procurement designation.

Nice to Have

- Cloud/software sourcing and negotiation experience.
- Experience sourcing and negotiating with AI providers.
- Professional Services or Management Consulting sourcing experience.
- Procurement law/regulatory knowledge.
- Category and pipeline management experience.
- Demonstrated achievement against significant cost-savings targets.

Key Candidate Profile: The priority is a true Technology Strategic Sourcing / Deal Negotiation professional with substantial complex-deal and contract drafting experience. Profiles primarily focused on vendor management, supplier management or purchasing are not a fit. Location: Toronto – 181 Bay Street, 4 days onsite

Rate: $60–$70/hr INC

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM
