The Network Services Engineering team is responsible for the design, deployment, testing, certification, and operation of global data and voice network infrastructure. The team supports private data centers, campus and branch networks, global WAN/MAN networks, metro core networks, public cloud connectivity, Internet infrastructure, and low-latency/trade floor networks
.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design, develop, execute, and certify tests for network routers, switches, and related network hardware to ensure optimal performance, reliability, interoperability, and compliance.
2. Perform functional, performance, regression, interoperability, and code/feature certification testing in network laboratory environments.
3. Identify opportunities for test automation and develop automated testing solutions using
Python, Ansible, APIs, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
techniques.
4. Develop, maintain, and enhance test automation workflows to improve test coverage, efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
5. Lead testing and certification activities across
Campus, Branch, WAN/MAN, Data Center, and low-latency network environments
.
6. Perform rapid certification of patches, SMUs, software releases, and network codes
, particularly for risk- and CVE-driven events requiring expedited validation.
7. Test interoperability with network appliances such as
F5, A10, Fortinet, and SRX firewalls/load balancers
.
8. Design and execute performance tests to evaluate the functionality, speed, scalability, stability, and reliability of network hardware and solutions.
9. Diagnose hardware malfunctions, performance issues, software defects, interoperability problems, and network compatibility issues identified during testing.
10. Develop and design testing strategies for various network hardware platforms, including routers and switches
.
11. Utilize tools such as tcpdump, Wireshark, Git, IXIA,
and Spirent for packet analysis, troubleshooting, automation, and network certification.
12. Develop automation using
Python, Ansible, APIs, and Infrastructure-as-Code techniques.
13. Create and maintain engineering standards, configuration templates, testing procedures, best-practice documentation, and certification guidelines
.
14. Prepare detailed test results, certification reports, technical findings, recommendations, and engineering documentation for technical and management teams.
15. Track and analyze bugs, vulnerabilities, CVEs, and remediation activities and provide expert-level support for production network environments.
16. Evaluate vendor products and technologies, participate in
Proof of Concept (PoC)
activities, and provide recommendations regarding current platforms and capabilities.
17. Collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and engineering peers to evaluate industry trends, emerging technologies, upcoming products, and network features
.
18. Provide technical guidance to wider engineering teams regarding network platforms, designs, testing strategies, certification, and implementation best practices
.
19. Support the testing and certification of future software and hardware releases and drive continuous improvements in network testing processes.
20. Work independently on complex network implementations and testing initiatives with minimal supervision.
Required Experience
1. 8+ years of experience in network engineering, with extensive experience in
LAN/WAN network design, engineering, testing, code certification, and feature validation
.
2. Senior-level experience with the ability to lead projects, drive testing initiatives, and work independently
.
3. Experience designing and executing network product testing and certification in laboratory environments is highly desirable.
4. CCIE-level experience preferred
, with a minimum of
CCNP-level knowledge and experience
.
