Senior Network & Systems Administrator

About Us

We are a growing Managed Services Provider (MSP) serving small and mid-sized businesses throughout the Ottawa-Gatineau region. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Network & Systems Administrator to maintain, support, and enhance our clients' on-premises and cloud-based IT environments.

The successful candidate will occasionally travel to client sites and will be responsible for delivering exceptional technical support, infrastructure management, cybersecurity solutions, and project implementation services. We are looking for a proactive, client-focused professional who takes ownership of challenges and delivers high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities

- Install, maintain, and support server, workstation, networking, and cloud infrastructure.
- Administer Microsoft Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022, and newer).
- Manage Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune and Defender.
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot virtualization platforms, including VMware and Hyper-V.
- Implement and support enterprise cybersecurity solutions, including EDR, MDR, Microsoft Defender, email security, MFA, and Conditional Access policies.
- Administer and support backup and disaster recovery solutions, including Veeam and Datto.
- Configure and maintain firewalls, switches, wireless infrastructure, VPNs, and network security solutions.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in both remote and onsite client environments.
- Perform infrastructure assessments, audits, and technology recommendations.
- Participate in planning, coordinating, and implementing client projects and technology refresh initiatives.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation,



network diagrams, asset inventories, and standard operating procedures.
- Support Azure cloud services, virtual machines, and hybrid cloud infrastructure.
- Escalate, track, and resolve issues while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years of experience in network and systems administration.
- Experience working in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment is strongly preferred.
- Strong administration experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Windows desktop operating systems.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Active Directory
- Group Policy
- DNS
- DHCP
- Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Hands-on experience supporting and administering Microsoft 365 environments.
- Experience implementing and supporting virtualization platforms, preferably VMware and Hyper-V.
- Experience implementing and supporting backup and disaster recovery technologies, preferably Veeam and Datto.
- Experience managing firewalls, VPNs, network switching, VLANs, and wireless networking solutions. Fortinet experience is highly desirable.
- Experience with endpoint management solutions, including Microsoft Intune.
- Experience with cybersecurity technologies such as Microsoft Defender, EDR, MDR, email security, and vulnerability management.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.




- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced MSP environment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Passion for learning and implementing new technologies.

Desired Skills The following would be considered strong assets:

- Microsoft Azure administration experience.
- PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Microsoft 365 migration experience.
- Veeam Backup & Replication expertise.
- Fortinet NSE/FCP certifications.
- Microsoft certifications (Azure, Microsoft 365, Security).
- Experience with project planning and implementation.
- Experience supporting healthcare, professional services, or SMB environments.

Additional Requirements

- Fluent in English.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is a strong asset.
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle.
- Minimum college diploma in Information Technology, Computer Systems, Networking, or related field.
- Must reside in the Ottawa-Gatineau area.
- Ability to participate in occasional after-hours maintenance windows when required.
