Senior Program Manager - Pricing Analytics & Revenue Optimization

What you'll do
Bring your pricing expertise, strategic mindset, and passion for clean transportation to BC Hydro.
In this role, you’ll lead the pricing strategy for BC Hydro’s public EV charging network, helping balance affordability,
customer adoption, cost recovery, competitiveness, regulatory considerations, and long-term network sustainability.
- Develop, maintain, and evolve BC Hydro’s public EV charging pricing framework, including charging rates, idle fees, and
other pricing structures.
- Build and refine pricing models that balance cost recovery, market positioning, customer adoption, affordability, utilization,
and long-term network sustainability.
- Champion a test-and-learn approach to pricing innovation, including pilots, controlled market tests, customer
segmentation, and post-implementation reviews.
- Develop repeatable methodologies for pricing reviews, market scans, benchmarking, revenue analysis, and scenario
modelling.
- Lead periodic rate reviews and recommend pricing adjustments based on utilization data, customer behaviour, financial
targets, market conditions, and policy direction.
- Translate complex pricing analysis into practical recommendations that can be understood by technical, financial,
regulatory, customer-facing, and executive audiences.
- Lead pricing analysis to support EV charging network cost recovery, revenue growth, and long-term financial planning.
- Track and report on revenue performance against targets, identifying risks, variances, trends, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with internal partners to integrate pricing assumptions into business cases, investment planning, forecasting,
and multiyear financial plans.
- Assess the impact of pricing decisions on utilization, customer adoption, revenue, program cost recovery.
- Develop financial scenarios and sensitivity models to support executive decision-making.
- Help define the right performance metrics for pricing success.
- Monitor pricing across public charging networks in B.C., Canada, and relevant North American markets.
- Assess customer price sensitivity and willingness to pay through data analysis, customer behaviour, surveys, market
research, and usage trends.
- Identify emerging pricing practices in public EV charging, including subscription models, roaming partnerships, idle fees,
demand-based pricing, fleet pricing, and differentiated service levels.
- Provide strategic intelligence on federal and provincial policy developments that may affect EV charging economics,
pricing strategy, funding programs, customer expectations, or regulatory requirements.
- Analyze how market factors such as electricity costs, charger availability, charging speed, location type, EV adoption, and
customer convenience influence pricing tolerance and market positioning.
- Convert market insights into actionable recommendations for pricing, product design, customer experience, and network
planning.
What you bring
You’re a strategic pricing leader who can connect analysis to action. You’re comfortable working at the intersection of finance, customer behaviour, regulation, energy transition, public policy, and commercial strategy.
You likely have
- A degree in business, economics, finance, engineering, public policy, data analytics, or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of related work experience.
- Significant experience in pricing strategy, rate design, financial modelling and business strategy,.
- Solid analytical and financial modelling skills, with the ability to build pricing scenarios, evaluate trade-offs, and
recommend practical decisions.
- Experience translating complex data into clear recommendations for senior leaders.
- A solid understanding of revenue performance, cost recovery, customer adoption, and market positioning.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Regulatory, Operations, Communications, Customer
Experience, and leadership groups.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare executive-level materials.
- Comfort operating in a regulated, public-sector, utility, infrastructure, or customer-facing environment.
- A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to build processes where ambiguity exists.
- Familiarity with AI capabilities as it pertains to ongoing price optimization and advanced intelligence/reporting using data
visualization tools, pricing analytics platforms, Power BI, SQL, Python, or advanced Excel modelling. What we offer
