Working alongside a team of experienced individuals, managers, and executives, you will support our underwriters and deliver exceptional service to our broker partners. You will have the opportunity to build meaningful broker relationships while developing your skills and growing your career in the insurance industry.This is anin-office positionbased in ourLangley, BC or Salmon Arm, BC offices,with thepotential to transition to a hybrid arrangementupon successful completion of the probationary period.ResponsibilitiesThis position will:Develop and maintain excellent relationships with underwriters and brokers through discussions and correspondenceProcess and issue documents as instructed by underwriters and managersMeet service standard and turnaround time with respect to the issuance of documentsSupport Managers and Underwriters with general administrative tasksProduce and distribute correspondence memos, letters,
faxes and formsWork closely with underwriters to assist with the underwriting functionsDocument observations made during pre-reviews of files to assist underwritersComplete renewal pre-reviews and may approve renewal referrals within authorityPerform underwriting support functions at the direction of underwriters including bind confirmations, and certificates with a high degree of accuracyPreparing Certificates of InsuranceEdit & formatting of documents using a variety of software & programsReview documents for accuracyMaintain and innovate administrative workflow procedures to increase efficiencyCommunicate internally with other departments via e-mail and telephoneCommunicate externally with brokers as requiredBuild and maintain electronic and any applicable hard copy records following established guidelines and processes.QualificationsYou’re a good fit if you have:1-2 years of experience with transferrable skills in Customer service, administration, and data entryExisting insurance is considered a strong assetA valid broker license (level 1 or 2) is considered a strong assetCan type a minimum of 40 words per minuteGood communication skillsAre proficient in Microsoft Outlook and WordWilling to take insurance courses for continued growth and industry knowledgeAre familiar with the basic legal structures in CanadaBenefitsBy joining SPG Canada, you’ll become part of a rapidly growing company focused on providing innovative insurance solutions to support independent brokers in Canada.
