Senior Accountant – Revenue

About the role

We're hiring a Senior Accountant to take ownership of the revenue function at a growing software company in Calgary. This is a hands-on seat with real scope: you'll run the monthly revenue close, review customer contracts, keep billing and revenue aligned, and improve how the whole process works as the business scales.

It's a small finance team, which means visibility. You'll work directly with sales operations, FP&A;, and the executive team, and you'll be the person people come to with revenue questions.

What you'll do

- Own the monthly revenue close: journal entries, deferred revenue schedules, contract asset and liability balances, and revenue-side reconciliations
- Apply ASC 606 to customer contracts, including performance obligations, allocations, and modifications
- Keep contracts, billing, revenue recognition, and GL reporting aligned, and flag revenue leakage risk




- Own the commission process with support from a Staff Accountant
- Improve things: automate manual work, get more out of NetSuite, reduce spreadsheet dependency
- Support sales tax, GST/VAT coordination, and the annual audit

What we're looking for

- 4+ years of accounting experience, including revenue recognized over time (SaaS, subscription, or services)
- Working knowledge of ASC 606 or IFRS 15, deferred revenue, and contract review
- Experience with a major ERP (NetSuite preferred; SAP, Oracle, or similar works)
- CPA designated or in progress
- Someone organized and proactive who's comfortable with ambiguity and likes making processes better
