Senior Systems Testing / QA Specialist

Location: Sir William Hearst Ave., Toronto, ON

Assignment: Onsite | Full-time 5 days per week

Start Date: August 31, 2026

End Date: March 31, 2027

Incorp rate: $78-$82.20/hr

Position Overview The Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist will lead and support testing activities for large, complex applications. The successful candidate will plan and organize testing, develop test strategies and test plans, create and execute test cases, and support integration, functional, performance and UAT testing.

The role requires strong experience with QA processes, SDLC, Agile/DevOps, cloud technologies, test management tools, API testing and databases . Experience with Ontario government applications and AODA compliance is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, organize and lead testing activities for large and complex systems.
- Develop and execute test strategies, test plans, test cases and test scripts .
- Perform functional, integration, regression, system, performance and UAT testing.
- Identify, document, track and resolve defects and system issues.
- Work with project managers, developers, business analysts and technical teams to resolve issues.
- Create and manage test data for technical and business validation.
- Support testing in both GUI and non-GUI environments.
- Provide guidance on testing tools, processes and best practices.
- Support AODA compliance testing, audits and remediation .
- Participate throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) .
- Maintain testing documentation, results and status reports.
- Support continuous improvement of QA processes and testing standards.
- Work effectively in Agile, DevOps and Waterfall environments.

Must-Have Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience planning, organizing and implementing testing efforts.
- Strong experience creating,



reviewing and executing test strategies, test plans and test cases .
- Extensive experience with test management tools , such as Azure DevOps and Micro Focus ALM.
- Experience with AODA compliance testing, audits and remediation .
- Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile and DevOps .
- Experience with functional, integration, regression, performance and UAT testing.
- Strong problem-solving and defect-resolution experience.
- Excellent communication, organization and stakeholder management skills.

Technical Requirements
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud technologies .
- Experience with AODA testing tools , including AXE and WAVE.
- Experience with Siebel / RLSO, ESDI and other Ministry applications .
- Knowledge of Licensing and Control System (LCS) and legacy mainframe systems.
- Experience with payment gateway services , including MPG/EPS.
- Experience with mainframe tools such as TSO/ISPF .
- Experience with ReadyAPI, Web Services, REST APIs, OPA and Java .
- Experience with IMS, DB2, SQL and Oracle databases and UNIX.
- Knowledge of the .NET platform .
- Experience with automated testing tools and test automation is an asset.

Nice-to-Have Experience
- Experience testing Ontario government or public-sector applications .
- Experience with AODA compliance audits and remediation .
- Experience with large-scale legacy/mainframe systems.
- Experience with COTS applications.
- Experience developing automated test scripts.
- Programming experience in Java or another programming language.
- Experience with information management and object-oriented testing methodologies.
