Job Overview The Toucan is looking for an experienced server to work in the busy downtown bar and restaurant. The successful candidate will be required to efficiently take and delivery orders, as well as being the face of our pub and responsible for customers’ experiences. We are looking for a server who understands that they must be a vibrant host to our every-day party. Must have at least 2 years of experience in a previous serving position.

As a Server, you will be the friendly face that enhances our guests’ dining experience through exceptional service, attentiveness, and hospitality. Your enthusiasm and professionalism will ensure each guest feels welcomed, valued, and satisfied from the moment they arrive until they leave. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your food industry skills while creating memorable moments for our guests in a lively, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

- Greet guests warmly and guide them to their tables with a positive attitude
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems
- Serve food and drinks promptly, ensuring proper presentation and quality standards are met
- Manage multiple tables efficiently through effective time management and organization
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cashiering duties and cash handling procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all serving areas,



adhering to food safety regulations
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
- Assist in front of house team and kitchen support as needed to ensure smooth service flow
- Provide excellent guest services by addressing questions, special requests, or concerns promptly

Skills

- Proven 2 years experience in restaurant food service with strong customer service skills
- Familiarity with POS systems for order processing and cashiering
- Knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols within the food industry
- Ability to manage time effectively during busy service periods while maintaining attention to detail
- Robust communication skills to interact confidently with guests and team members
- Basic math skills for accurate bill calculation, change handling, and order adjustments
- Experience with food preparation or kitchen support is a plus but not required
- Demonstrated hospitality mindset with a focus on guest satisfaction and upselling techniques
