Job Overview
We are seeking a confident, customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our busy automotive repair and quick-lube shop. The ideal candidate has robust knowledge of vehicle maintenance, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
As the first point of contact for customers, you will identify their service needs, explain maintenance and repair recommendations, prepare estimates, coordinate with automotive technicians, and ensure a smooth customer experience from vehicle drop-off to pick-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers and identify their automotive service and repair needs.
- Create work orders for oil changes, vehicle inspections, tire services, brake repairs, and general mechanical repairs.
- Provide accurate estimates and clearly explain recommended maintenance and repair services.
- Schedule service appointments and manage the daily workflow of the shop.
- Communicate with technicians regarding repair status, timelines, and additional service recommendations.
- Keep customers informed about the progress of their vehicles.
- Maintain accurate service records and update customer and vehicle profiles.
- Process payments, invoices, warranty claims, and related documentation.
- Provide excellent customer service and address customer questions professionally.
- Recommend preventive maintenance, seasonal service packages, and additional services when appropriate.
- Assist with parts ordering and inventory tracking as needed.
- Keep the front desk and customer waiting area clean, organized, and welcoming.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Automotive Service Advisor is required.
- Knowledge of automotive maintenance, repairs, and service terminology.
- Strong sales, customer service, and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced automotive shop.
- Comfortable preparing estimates, work orders, and invoices.
- Experience using CDK or similar dealership management software is an asset.
- Previous automotive dealership, repair shop, or quick-lube experience is preferred.
- Positive attitude and commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Familiarity with Canadian automotive service standards is an asset.
- Experience with parts ordering or inventory management is an asset.
