At Chateau Lighting, we’re Edmonton’s premier destination for lighting, furniture, and home décor. We’re known for our high standards in service and quality — and we’re growing! With a strong presence in residential, multi-family, and commercial lighting, we’re looking for driven individuals to help us scale our operations.

Why Join Us?

About the Role

We are currently looking for a dependable and hands-on Service Associate to join our growing team.

This is a varied role supporting our lighting service department, warehouse, showroom, and day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, comfortable learning new skills, and able to work independently while also being a strong team player.

Lighting or electrical experience is an asset, but we are also interested in individuals with backgrounds in construction, maintenance, warehouse operations, installation, furniture assembly, delivery, or other hands-on environments.

Reporting to the manager of the department, the Service Associate will assist with lighting service and troubleshooting while also providing general support throughout the warehouse, showroom, and business as required.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Service

- Provide assistance to customers regarding lighting products, including basic installation guidance, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Assist with troubleshooting, testing, preparing, and servicing light fixtures.

- Perform on-site visits for installations, inspections, service calls, and technical support as required.
- Assist with warranty and product-related service issues.
- Collaborate with the sales team to resolve product and service issues and ensure customer satisfaction.

General Responsibilities

- Assist with customer pickups and local deliveries.
- Receive, organize, move and other products.
- Load and unload light fixtures, furniture, and other merchandise safely.
- Assist with furniture deliveries, assembly, and placement.
- Assist with showroom displays, lighting installations, and general showroom projects.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and work environment.
- Assist with general maintenance and other hands-on projects throughout the business.
- Provide occasional off-site support as directed by the manager.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.

Qualifications

- 1+ years of experience in a hands-on role such as service, maintenance, construction, warehouse, installation, electrical, lighting, or a related field is preferred.
- Lighting or electrical experience is an asset but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is an asset.
- Strong hands-on skills and a willingness to learn.

- Comfortable using basic hand and power tools.
- Comfortable performing physical work, including lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading.
- Must be comfortable working at heights of up to 14 feet.
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving history and 3 + years of driving experience.
- 3-year driver's abstract required.
- CSTS 2020 required for work on construction sites. This is a free course offered through the Alberta Construction Safety Association.

Experience

- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Hands-on, resourceful, and willing to learn.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable interacting professionally with customers, contractors, and team members.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Dependable, punctual, and willing to help wherever needed.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing needs throughout the day.

What We Offer

- Competitive Pay – Hourly wage based on experience
- Time Off – 2 weeks vacation after 3-month probation
- Advantages – Health and dental after 1 year of employment
- Perks – Annual staff outings, holiday dinners, and a positive workplace

The Opportunity This is a great prospect for someone who enjoys variety and wants a hands-on position where they can develop their skills.

You don't need to know everything about lighting on day one. We're looking for someone who is reliable, hands-on, willing to learn, and isn't afraid to jump in and help wherever needed.

If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.

Pay: CA$18.00-CA$24.00 per hour
