Part-time support prospect (temporary): September 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027
Hourly rate: $40.00
Hours: Up to 24 hours per week. Monday through Friday, typical hours scheduled between 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., evening and/or weekend work may be required on occasion

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Coordinator oversees the design and implementation of sexual violence education, programs and resources for the campus community; and, provides one-on-one support to survivors who are affected by sexual violence. The incumbent provides support to the campus community on a wide range of concerns resulting from being exposed to or responding to sexual violence, and its impact on functioning in the post-secondary context.
The Coordinator receives and responds to disclosures of sexual violence and facilitates referrals to internal and external supports in accordance with the College's Sexual Violence Policy. The incumbent will also design and provide education and training to members of the campus Community with respect to understanding consent, bystander approaches, responding, and reporting incidents of sexual violence.
Provide 1:1 Navigation Support and Case Management to Students Impacted by Sexual Violence
- Maintain and enhance case management documentation in accordance with College procedures and privacy requirements.
- Respond to disclosures of sexual violence using an intersectional, trauma-informed,
and survivor-centered approach.
- Provide crisis intervention, system navigation, advocacy, and referrals to appropriate internal and external services in accordance with the College's Sexual Violence Policy.
- Provide recommendations to the Director about requisite interim measures, suitability of informal resolution processes, and support needed by relevant department leads to equip them with the requisite knowledge and tools to support understanding and application of relevant College guidelines and policies, on a case-by-case basis
- Maintain and enhance community resource listings on College websites and associated print materials.
- Coordinate the sexual violence disclosure reporting system and generate reports and statistical summaries as required.
Facilitate the Sexual Violence Capacity Building Program
- Create and maintain intersectional, culturally responsive, trauma-informed educational and promotional content for the OEDI intranet, sexual violence website, social media platforms, and orientation materials, including information on services, resources, and awareness initiatives.
- Collaborate with relevant departments across the College to deliver in-person programming (and development of associated materials) to promote student and employee awareness of the OEDI services and resources that support students affected by sexual violence;
- Develop and deliver interactive, in-person intersectional culturally responsive, trauma-informed learning opportunities to students and employees about preventing and responding to sexual violence on campus.
- Identify emerging trends and recurring issues related to sexual violence through case analysis, collaboration with campus and community partners, and participation in communities of practice. Provide recommendations to the Director and contribute to the development of response strategies, policy enhancements, and preventative initiatives.
Cultivate DC-Community Partnerships Relevant to Sexual Violence
- Cultivate and nurture partnerships with community-based and governmental organizations in service of developing or enhancing supports available to students affected by sexual violence.
- Collaborate with community-based, governmental, and on-campus partners to offer supports to students affected by sexual violence.
Program Evaluation
- Collect, analyze, and document program data and outcomes to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of initiatives.
- Contribute to departmental and institutional plans, reports, and legislative compliance requirements.
- Conduct environmental scans, literature reviews, and research on promising practices, emerging trends, and legislative developments related to sexual violence prevention and response to inform program development and policy enhancement.
Other Duties as Required
- Support the planning, coordination,
and administration of OEDI initiatives and team responsibilities.
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to student employees and placement students, as required.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a 4-year degree in Social Work or related field. A Master’s degree in Social Work or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of work experience working with individuals affected by sexual violence through an intersectional trauma-informed, survivor-centered framework.
- Mental Health First Aid and ASIST or equivalent training in the subject matter is required.
- Appropriate training in responding to disclosures of sexual violence and gender-based violence, including developing safety plans, conducting threat assessments, and utilizing restorative practices. Broader training in social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion is also required.
- Experience facilitating knowledge mobilization, program development, and workshop facilitation, as well as conducting literature reviews and environmental scans.
- Experience designing and facilitating program evaluation processes and contributing to the development of reports.
- Working knowledge of the Sexual Violence and Harassment Action Plan Act (Bill 132), the Ontario Human Rights Code, and other related legislation.
- Advanced interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to effectively support individuals experiencing distress or crisis.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of on- and off-campus community partners.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Forms, Teams, and SharePoint), Canva, and case management or documentation systems used to track disclosures, consultations, and outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands effectively.
