Job ID:64352Job Category:Communications & MarketingDivision & Section:Parks & Recreation, Strategic Project Impl Community EngmtWork Location:Metro Hall, 55 John Street, Toronto, M5V 3C6Job Type & Duration:Full-Time, PermanentHourly Rate and Wage Grade:$40.08 - $43.91Shift Information:Monday to Friday, 35 per weekAffiliation:L79 Full-timeNumber of Positions Open:1Posting Period:21-MAY-2026 to 04-JUN-2026Major Responsibilities:Supports the Parks and Recreation Engagement Team in engaging the public on capital projects by:Initiates the planning and organizing of virtual and in-person public meetings, workshops and open houses, including through the provision of tech and facilitation support and the set-up and take-down of equipment and materialsInitiates, plans, organizes and facilitates meetings that can include the public, senior staff, consultants and Toronto CouncillorsReviews, analyzes, and maintains documents and materials related to public engagement events (e.G. preparation of presentation materials for public meetings and events, development of surveys, and preparation of minutes and records of public meetings and workshops), and ensures provincially mandated requirements are met (i.E. the development AODA-compliant summary reports on engagement outcomes)Responds to telephone and email inquiries and correspondence from the public and staffTrains staff on presentation strategies and alerts senior staff about the public's concernsDrafts public reports summarizing public consultation outcomesInteracts with divisional staff, other city divisions as well as Toronto Councillors on issues related to projectsKey Qualifications:Your application must describe your qualifications as they relate to:Post-Secondary education in a discipline pertinent to the job function (i.E.
social science, political science, environment or planning, sociology, urban studies, environmental studies, geography, or planning) or equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience supporting public consultation projects and activitiesExperience using Microsoft Office Suite (e.G.
