O’Fee Law is a boutique personal injury law practice conveniently located in southeast Calgary.
The Legal Assistant performs clerical and office functions, manages incoming correspondence, and assists with the overflow of work on a day-to-day basis.
Responsibilities:
Accepting and responding to incoming telephone calls and walk in traffic.
Preparing and drafting correspondence to opposing counsel, third party insurers, section B insurers, health care providers, and perks providers.
Ordering medical and financial records
Compiling Affidavits of Records and completing Undertaking Responses
Preparing and drafting Court documents
Maintaining a file management system
Managing and staying up to date on client files
Corresponding with clients on the progress of their files
Administrative Tasks
Experience:
Legal Assistant Diploma from a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution is required.
Practicum completed in a law office in Alberta is required and understanding of the Alberta Rules of Court is necessary to the position.
1 - 3 years’ experience in a legal assistant role in litigation is required, personal injury is an asset.
Must be bondable and qualified to be a Commissioner of Oaths.
Strong organizational skills, reading comprehension, and attention to detail is required.
Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
A high level of skill in verbal and written communication is necessary as part of the primary duties will use both.
Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines.

Pay: $50,000.00-$56,000.00 per year
