Rigid Welding is seeking an experienced Welder/Fitter to join our team at our Uxbridge fabrication facility.

The ideal candidate will have strong pipe fitting, TIG welding and fabrication experience, with a minimum of 5 years in an industrial fabrication setting. We are looking for someone who is highly skilled and experienced on the tools, and who is also capable of taking on day-to-day supervisory responsibilities within the shop, including providing direction to other welders and fitters, monitoring workmanship and helping keep projects organized and on schedule.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Custom metal fabrication – steel, stainless steel and aluminum
Pipe fitting, fabrication and installation
Pipe and pressure vessel welding
Read and interpret welding and fabrication drawings
Assist with coordinating daily shop work and workflow
Provide guidance and direction to other welders, fitters and apprentices as required
Monitor quality of work and ensure fabrication is completed to drawings and specifications
Identify and troubleshoot fabrication, welding and fit-up issues
Help ensure projects remain organized and on schedule
Perform equipment operational checks
Maintain clean and safe work areas
Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:




Minimum 5 years of welding, fitting and industrial fabrication experience
Strong TIG/GTAW welding experience on stainless steel pipe
Solid pipe fitting and fabrication skills
Experience with pipe and pressure vessel welding
Ability to work independently and provide direction to less experienced shop employees
Able to set up and maintain own welding equipment
Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude
Able to read and interpret welding drawings, fabrication drawings and specifications
Experience working with stainless steel and carbon steel
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Dependable, conscientious and punctual
Valid G-class driver's licence
Must be able to work at our Uxbridge facility and at customer locations across the GTA

Experience with ASME/TSSA work, pressure vessels and regulated fabrication environments is considered a strong asset.

Pay: $28.00-$36.00 per hour
