Soma Chocolatemaker is looking for a permanent FT Lead Baker for a vacancy at our King Street Location. Work within a small agile passionate team to make award-winning delicious baked goods.

This is an excellent chance for someone wanting to increase their knowledge, learn techniques and gain additional experience in bakery production.

Responsibilities

● Contribute to the timely completion of the weekly production list in the bakery - King

Street location

● Meet production deadlines and numbers for seasonal products

● Use depositors , sheeter and other equipment for production

● Keep equipment clean and in positive working order

● Work with FOH to assure product rotation and freshness

● Assist in the creation of new seasonal products.

● Keep all work spaces clean, including deep cleans when necessary

● Pays attention to detail and has high quality standards

● Order ingredients and keep reasonable stock levels

● Use inventory and production software for traceability.





● Ability to multi-task and follow direction

● Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and also as part of a team

● Must have current Toronto Food Handler Certificate

Requirements:

· A passion to learn a variety of baked goods

· Experience in a kitchen or bakery setting is mandatory.

· Details-oriented and consistent

· Able to understand and speak English

· Able to work independently and in a team

· Able to lift a minimum of 20kg

· Able to stand for long periods of time

· Able to work legally in Canada (work visa or permanent resident)

Wage: Competitive hourly
