Job OverviewThe Township of Langley is currently recruiting for up to five Advanced Aquatics and First Aid Instructors (RI 2-4) to join our team of professionals in the Recreation, Arts and Culture Division, Recreation Programs and Services Department. Reporting to the Community Recreation Manager, in this unionized position you will apply your advanced knowledge, enthusiasm and expertise to instruct a variety of Advanced Aquatic and First Aid programs for participants of various ages, abilities and interests. This position will appeal to applicants who have robust leadership and communication skills and are committed to excellence in customer service.ResponsibilitiesAssist and participate in the planning process, organization and promotion of aquatic fitness programsAssist and participate in conducting drop‑in and registered fitness classes for the publicMaintain inventory of instruction supplies and equipmentAssist in conducting a maintenance and custodial program ensuring that established standards of cleanliness and safety are enforcedRespond to enquiries/complaints from the public regarding programs and activitiesPerform related work as requiredQualificationsCompletion of Grade 12 or equivalent, combined with related experience in programs and activitiesSound knowledge of recreation programs, practices, and objectivesAbility to organize,



lead and participate in recreation programs and activitiesAbility to establish and maintain effective communication with participants, recreation staff and volunteersAdditional certifications are considered an assetThis position is defined by the Township of Langley as a position of trust (Child Safety).
