We are seeking Swine Technicians to become a vital part of ensuring the health, well-being, and productivity of our swine herd. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for daily animal care, maintaining clean and safe facilities, and supporting the overall operations of our farm. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help us uphold high standards of animal welfare and operational efficiency.
Duties
Provide daily care to swine, including feeding, watering, and monitoring health status
Assist with animal handling, movement, and bedding management to ensure safety and comfort
Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of pens, equipment, and facilities to maintain a hygienic environment
Health assessment and treatment of illness
Assist with breeding programs, piglet care, and weaning processes as needed
Weigh, sort and select livestock for sale
Maintain quality control, production and livestock records
Train and supervise farm workers
Perform general farm duties as required
Requirements
Mechanical knowledge or experience working with farm machinery is highly desirable
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively throughout the workday
Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
Prior experience in livestock or farm environments is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided
Robust attention to detail with excellent observation skills for animal health monitoring
Ability to follow safety protocols diligently to ensure personal safety and that of colleagues
