Douglas Homes, a large volume home builder in Calgary and surrounding areas, is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Site Supervisor. We are in search of someone who can support and oversee the day-to-day operations of a construction site. Position Summary In this role, the Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all on-site residential construction activities to ensure homes are built safely, on time, on budget, and to Douglas Homes’ quality standards. This role requires robust leadership, organization, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Support Site Assistants as needed with daily site coordination.

- Train/Mentor Site Assistants.

- Manage all phases of residential construction from start to possession.

- Support post possession/warranty as needed.

- Responsible for frame checks, marking foundation, and measuring footings.

- Identify and resolve deficiencies.

- Schedule and coordinate trades and suppliers.

- Maintain construction timelines and meet completion targets. Control variance spending.

- Conduct quality inspections at each construction stage.

- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, reporting any issues or hazards to the Manager.

- Manage site safety and enforce OH&S; standards.

- Conduct hazard assessments and safety inspections (4 per month as per FLHA standards).

- Follow all site safety procedures and wear required PPE.

- Communicate regularly with Site Assistants, Managers and internal teams.





- Pre occ – prepare homes for homeowner walkthroughs and possession.

- Address and resolve site issues promptly.

- Maintain detailed site documentation.

- Responsible to ensure signage is in front of every house (upright & visible) and maintained.

- Ensure sites are locked at the end of each day and assist in doors being opened for inspectors.

- Ensure compliance with Alberta building codes and safety regulations.

- Ensure homes meet Douglas Homes’ quality standards and specifications.

- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- 3+ years of residential construction experience.

- Proven experience supervising multiple homes simultaneously.

- Construction Fundamentals & Building Codes Training.

- LSE Training through ACSA.

- Certified and comfortable working at heights.

- PHBI Master Builder Training: Building Science Principles Problem Solving in the Home Building Industry Project Management & Supervision Fundamentals Construction Performance Guidelines & Warranty Applications Home Building on AB soils

- Communication & Negotiation Training

- Estimating Fundamentals Training

- Moisture Control Certificate from SAIT is considered an asset

- Strong knowledge of Alberta Construction Performance Guide.

- Strong knowledge of Alberta building codes and best practices.

- Excellent leadership and conflict resolution skills.

- Strong organizational and scheduling abilities.

- Valid driver’s license.
