The SOC Analyst Intern supports security operations through monitoring and triaging alerts, investigating and escalating incidents, analyzing phishing and access activity, and improving detection, playbooks, and security issue tracking.

Responsibilities

- Monitor and triage security alerts from endpoint, identity, cloud, and network sources
- Enrich alerts with relevant context and document investigation steps
- Escalate suspicious activity using defined severity and response procedures
- Assist with phishing analysis, access reviews, and vulnerability follow-up




- Maintain incident playbooks and help improve detection quality
- Track operational metrics and recurring security issues

Qualification

Required

- Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Understanding of networking, Windows or Linux, and common attack techniques
- Ability to interpret logs and follow structured investigation procedures
- Solid attention to detail, judgment, and written communication
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred

- Exposure to SIEM, EDR, cloud security, or ticketing systems
- Security labs, CTFs, certifications, or home-lab experience
- Familiarity with Python, PowerShell, or shell scripting
