Applicant MUST have:
-S100 Basic Fire Suppression and Safety or equivalent (annual recert S100A), and
-S185 Fire Entrapment Avoidance
Wolverine Wildland Firefighters are held to rigorous fitness standards as much of the job occurs in the outdoors. Firefighters perform the following duties:
Responds to wildland fires
Performs fire mop up duties, including but not limited to, checking for hot-spots, patrolling burned areas, using hand tools, pumps and/or hoses
Interacts with other agencies in a skilled and cooperative manner
Performs under emergency conditions which may require strenuous exertion in the face of such handicaps as: smoke, high temperatures and steep terrain
Provides Level 1 First Aid when needed
Completes required reports and forms
Drives fire apparatus to the scene
Operates two-way radio
Inspects and cleans equipment and PPE
Performs daily and weekly maintenance of supplies
Participates in frequent training sessions to maintain basic wildland firefighting skills, and to keep up-to-date on any current technical developments in the Fire Service
Requirements:
Minimum 19 years of age
Physically fit - must be able to pass annual Fitness Test, moderate
S 100 Basic Fire Suppression and Safety or equivalent (annual re-currency S100A)
S 185 Fire Entrapment Avoidance
Available to work on-call for the summer season
Work well with others
Be able to travel within BC
Work and camp in the outdoors
Job Type: Seasonal
Pay: $20.00-$32.00 per hour

Intermediate First Aid (Level 2) (preferred)
