Our client is currently looking for a Heavy Duty/Transportation Mechanic to join their team in Nanaimo, BC. This role is responsible for performing high-quality preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on commercial transport vehicles and heavy-duty equipment.

This position is located out of Nanaimo, BC. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities
Conduct preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on commercial transport vehicles and heavy-duty equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems.
Disassemble, repair, and reassemble components such as engines, transmissions, braking systems, and fuel systems.
Maintain and repair air systems and related components.
Diagnose, maintain, and repair mobile machinery, including trucks, trailers, graders, bulldozers, excavators, and loaders.




Fabricate and weld parts as needed.
Accurately complete work orders and service documentation.

Qualifications
Journeyman (Red Seal) certification in Commercial Transport or Heavy-Duty Mechanics.
3rd/4th Year Apprentices may also be considered.
Ability to provide your own tools.
Experience with heavy civil equipment and commercial trucking/trailer industries.
Valid driver’s license.
A Class 1 or Class 3 license an asset.
Welding experience an asset.
Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
