Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our team and make a lasting impact on the lives of young people. In this role, you will provide essential support, guidance, and advocacy to children and their families, helping them navigate challenges and access vital resources. Your energy and commitment will help ignite the power and promise of youth, aligning with our mission to create nurturing environments where every child can thrive.
Responsibilities
- Assess the needs of children and families through interviews, observations, and case history reviews to develop personalized support plans.
- Connect clients with community resources such as mental health services, educational programs, healthcare providers, and social services.
- Provide counseling and emotional support to help children build resilience, self-esteem, and healthy coping skills.
- Advocate on behalf of children to ensure they receive appropriate services and support systems.
- Monitor progress regularly by maintaining detailed case records, updating support plans as needed,
and documenting all interactions accurately.
- Collaborate with schools, healthcare providers, community organizations, and family members to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Promote positive behavioral changes by implementing evidence-based intervention strategies tailored to each child's unique circumstances.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Proven experience in child welfare, counseling, or social services environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent communication skills for effective advocacy and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of local community resources, social service systems, and relevant laws or regulations.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy, professionalism, and confidentiality.
