NOTICE OF POSTING For Sessional Faculty – School of Social Work The School of Social Work invites applications for the following teaching position to be offered in the Fall/Winter 2026-2027 session.

Wage Rate: $9,435.73 (See Schedule “A” of current CUPE 3906 Unit 2 Collective Agreement)
*Supplemented Fees- 15.02(a) The employee may be eligible to receive supplemented fees in accordance with Schedule C of the Collective Agreement. The actual rate of pay when in excess of the base rate of pay is deemed to include any supplemented fees owing, to the extent of the excess amount.
If the actual rate of pay is less than the sum of the base rate of pay and the supplemented fees owing, then the employee shall receive the difference.
Course Description:
Critical review of contemporary theoretical frameworks, policies and programs in mental health and addiction and the implications for social work research and practice in Canada.
This course will engage with critical perspectives and issues in mental health theory, policy, and practice by focusing on contemporary social, political, and historical contexts for social justice. This course aims to appreciate the contributions of those who have experienced the mental health system and who advocate for change.
Lectures, small and large group discussions, and additional teaching and learning approaches.
Required Qualifications:
MSW required, PhD completed or in-progress preferred. Experience in direct practice in the subject area and commitment to the School’s philosophical approach to social work.
Practice, teaching, and research experience in the fields of Mental Health & Addiction, including Mad & Critical Disability Studies .
