Wellington‑Altus identifies with successful, entrepreneurial advisors and portfolio managers and their high‑net‑worth clients.The opportunityReporting to the Associate Vice‑President, Advanced Wealth Planning, the Senior Wealth Planner is responsible for providing comprehensive wealth solutions for WA clients and value‑added services to WA Advisory teams.Leveraging industry and/or skilled knowledge, the Senior Wealth Planner will develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive wealth plans for business owners, incorporated professionals, and other high‑net‑worth clients, serving as a resource for WA Advisory teams.Key responsibilitiesFacilitate/participate in a goals‑based discovery process directly with existing and potential clients,
helping them articulate and identify short and long‑term goals.Enter client information into planning software and generate financial and other wealth plan aspects.Leverage financial analysis to create detailed wealth plans for high‑net‑worth and ultra‑high‑net‑worth clients.Manage the various wealth planning deliverables.Collaborate closely with clients’ other professional advisors to deliver a holistic experience.Maintain current and in‑depth knowledge of all areas of the wealth planning process, including financial, education, insurance and risk management, retirement, tax, business, and estate.Drive the WAPW wealth planning process and continuously improve and enhance the client experience.Assist in developing thought leadership on wealth planning topics.Recognize and foster intergenerational wealth management among WA advisors and their clients.Perform other duties as assigned.The ideal candidate will possessA degree or diploma in business administration, accounting, finance, or a similar field.At least 5 years’ experience in a wealth planning role.Background in income tax and insurance is an asset.Experience working with high‑net‑worth clients, business owners, and foreign assets is an asset.CFP or an equivalent financial planning designation.Professional designations such as TEP or CLU are an asset.Experience using Conquest is an asset.Proficiency with the MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.Strong organizational, analytical,
and time‑management skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a national team with varied backgrounds and industry experience.Professional demeanor that allows clients to feel comfortable discussing personal, confidential information.Strong presentation skills.Ability to keep up to date with Canada’s economic and financial environment, current events, trends, and changes to legislation related to income tax and wealth transfer planning.Entrepreneurial spirit to participate in Wellington‑Altus’s continued growth and a desire to exceed client expectations.Strong written and verbal communication skills.CompensationRange $120,000.00 – $156,000.00 annually.Compensation may vary based on location, skills, experience, and qualifications.
