This role can be fulfilled in any Jacobs Canada office or telework location and will be a key member of the Jacobs Canada Environmental Planning team, reporting to the Environmental Planning Director of Operations within the Jacobs Americas East Business Unit.As a Senior Environmental Regulatory Advisor, you will proactively raise the Jacobs brand and market position—internally and externally—through thought leadership, talent development and strategic advising related to regulatory, legislative and government policy decisions that impact clients in the environmental planning, permitting, compliance and liability management spaces.Core internal and external leadership responsibilitiesShaping and driving our Environmental Regulatory strategy and growth focus to drive differentiated profitable growth in the near‑ and longer‑termGuiding and implementing our market thought leadership activities to shape our differentiated brand, reputation and value proposition externallyFacilitating, positioning and engaging partnership with client account managers and the sales team to ensure Jacobs is the preeminent, trusted partner of choice for complex environmental planning and permitting projects, primarily related to significant infrastructure and capital opportunitiesEngaging, inspiring and mentoring environmental planning and permitting practitioners, pursuit teams and delivery teams, in partnership with Business Unit leadership teamsServing our clients with distinction and fostering an environment that encourages lifelong learning, experimentation and innovation,
living our Jacobs brand each and every dayStrategy, Innovation and Growth FocusDevelop strategy and tactics focusing on near‑ and long‑term profitable areas related to evolving legal, legislative and regulatory environmental planning and permitting client needs, primarily on the Canada market and client base, with appropriate involvement in non‑Canada jurisdictionsStay abreast of environmental planning and permitting market trends, regulatory and legislative changes, court decisions, executive actions and policy interpretations to continuously evaluate their impact on our clients and evolving market offeringsCollaborate with sales teams to identify, develop and actively engage top prospects (pursuit strategy development, key staffing, de‑risking projects, proposal development and review)Bridge across other markets—Water/Wastewater, Transportation, Energy & Power, and Advanced Manufacturing—to enhance cross‑market capabilities and drive opportunitiesPosition Jacobs as a thought leader in the Environmental Strategic Advisory market space by ensuring visibility and contributing to the industry’s body of knowledge (speaking at conferences, publishing white papers, delivering podcasts and webinars)Establish an inclusive, team-oriented environment that leverages skills and capabilities across Business Units to deliver market‑differentiated solutions and improved client connectivity and serviceClient Relationship and Delivery FocusNetwork with current and potential clients using industry reputation, experience and knowledge to develop new prospects and expand existing businessPartner with sales and programme teams to develop and maintain relationships with key senior executives in client organizations,
strategic partners and key market‐related associationsLead teams and deliver work on client proposals and projects, serving as a Senior Advisor or legal/regulatory subject matter expert for various project scopes and geographies across CanadaOversee strategic overhead investments for Environmental policy and regulatory branding and networkingPeople FocusSpend time coaching and mentoring as a senior leader for early‑ and mid‑career practitionersPartner with Business Unit leadership teams to attract, develop and retain a diverse, motivated and highly talented workforce as a strong brand differentiator in the industryWhat you’ll needBachelor’s, Master’s, Doctorate or advanced degree in Architecture, Biology, Environmental Science, Engineering, Law, Political Science or related field for the environmental marketProgressive consulting experience with a diverse portfolio of industry clientsExperience in strategy development, business development and sales interpretation of administrative and environmental lawWillingness to travel for pursuits, projects, client relationship management and talent developmentExcellent oral and written communication skillsAble to demonstrate external and internal thought leadership skills and experienceAbility to efficiently deliver results in a highly matrixed, fast‑moving, complex environmentMembership or board leadership in relevant professional trade groups and organizations is considered an assetPosted salary range minimum: $115,600.00Posted salary range upper: $180,625.00The base salary range for this position is $115,600.00 to $180,625.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across Ontario, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job‑related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
