This is an opportunity for a dedicated elementary education teacher to have meaningful impact on fourth through sixth grade boys in a supportive, student‑centered environment.QualificationsEducation/CertificationBachelor’s degree from an accredited college/universityValid Minnesota teaching certificate OR the ability to obtain an MN teaching certificateRequired endorsements for subject and level assigned – Elementary EducationSpecial Knowledge/SkillsKnowledge of subject(s) assignedGeneral knowledge of curriculum and instructionAbility to instruct students and manage their behaviorStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsMajor Responsibilities and DutiesInstructional StrategiesDevelop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the district curriculum program and provide written evidence of preparation.Prepare lessons that accommodate differences in student learning styles.Present subject matter according to local, state, and federal guidelines.Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula for special education students according to IEPs.Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aides and volunteers.Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.Student Growth and DevelopmentHelp students analyze and improve study methods and habits.Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.Assume responsibility for assigned extracurricular activities and sponsor outside activities approved by the principal.Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of the school district.Classroom Management and OrganizationManage student behavior and administer discipline according to board policies, administrative regulations, student code of conduct, and IEPs.Create classroom environments conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.Take all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.Assist in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.CommunicationEstablish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.Professional Growth and DevelopmentParticipate in staff development activities to improve job‑related skills.Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.Demonstrate interest and initiative in professional improvement.Demonstrate professional, ethical, and responsible behavior.OtherPerform all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or others.Perform other related duties as assigned.Salary Range$50,143 – $94,650 annually (based on education and experience per master agreement)BenefitsDistrict contribution toward health, dental, life, and long‑term disability insurance12 days of paid time off annuallySick leave accumulation up to 120 daysMinnesota Paid Family & Medical Leave eligibilityTeacher Retirement Association (TRA) pensionAdditional leave options (bereavement, childcare, FMLA)Career development and salary lane advancement opportunitiesPersonal LeaveLife InsuranceHealth InsuranceLong Term Disability#J-18808-Ljbffr
