Intern, IT Network (Summer 2026)Reports to:Manager, IT NetworkRole SummaryThe IT Network Intern supports the IT/Network team in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing the organization’s network infrastructure. This role provides hands‑on experience with networking technologies, system administration, and IT support while assisting in day‑to‑day operations.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access pointsMonitor network performance and help identify connectivity issues or bottlenecksProvide basic technical support to end‑users, including troubleshooting network‑related problemsSupport the setup and maintenance of LAN, WAN, and Wi‑Fi networksHelp document network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting proceduresParticipate in network security tasks such as updating antivirus software, applying patches, and monitoring for vulnerabilitiesAssist in managing user accounts, permissions,



and access controlsWork with senior network engineers on projects such as network upgrades or infrastructure improvementsPerform routine system checks and backups to ensure network reliability and data integrityStay updated with emerging networking technologies and best practicesRequired Skills & QualificationsPursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related fieldStrong problem‑solving and analytical skillsGood communication and teamwork abilitiesWillingness to learn and adapt in a quick‑paced environmentAbility to lift and carry up to 20 pounds safely and as required by the role.Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by the role.Ability to travel on‑site within the GTA as requiredPreferred (Nice‑to‑Have)Knowledge of network monitoring toolsExposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Basic understanding of cybersecurity principlesRelevant certifications (e.G., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA – in progress is acceptable)Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs)Familiarity with networking hardware and operating systems (Windows/Linux)Learning OutcomesGain hands‑on experience in real‑world network environmentsDevelop troubleshooting and technical support skillsUnderstand enterprise‑level networking and security practicesWork collaboratively in a professional IT team settingCompensation & Work ArrangementCompetitive Base Salary between $20/hr. - $25/hr.Hybrid Work Model: Minimum 3 days a week in the office.#J-18808-Ljbffr
