Job Overview
Hiredbuddy is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Software Test Engineer to join our quality assurance team. This is a fully remote, entry-level position perfect for recent graduates or individuals with up to 2 years of experience who are eager to build a career in software testing. You will play a key role in ensuring that our products are reliable, user-friendly, and meet the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and develop comprehensive test strategies.
- Create detailed test cases, test scripts, and test plans based on functional and technical specifications.
- Execute manual tests across web and mobile applications, documenting results and reporting defects in a clear and reproducible manner.
- Use bug tracking tools such as JIRA to log, prioritize, and track issues to resolution.
- Perform regression, integration, and smoke testing to verify software updates and releases.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, providing input on quality risks and test progress.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of automated test suites using tools like Selenium or Cypress (training provided if needed).
- Continuously learn and adopt new testing methodologies, tools, and best practices to improve efficiency and coverage.
- Communicate test results and quality metrics to the team, highlighting areas of concern and suggesting improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering,
or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 0–2 years of experience in software testing or a strong foundational knowledge of QA principles.
- Familiarity with the software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies (e.g., agile, waterfall).
- Basic understanding of test case design techniques like boundary value analysis and equivalence partitioning.
- Proficiency with test management tools such as TestRail or Zephyr is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document bugs and interact with cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.
