OVERVIEW
We are building a talent pipeline for upcoming Solution Architect opportunities supporting a leading organization in the shipbuilding Industry. This hybrid role will be based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and will play a key role in designing and delivering scalable, secure, and integrated technology solutions that support complex business and operational initiatives.
The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, project managers, and enterprise architects to define solution strategies, create architecture designs, and guide implementation across a diverse technology landscape.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING IN THE ROLE: Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable solution designs.
Define end-to-end solution architectures that align with business objectives, enterprise standards, and security requirements.
Produce architecture artifacts, including: Solution Design Documents (SDDs)
Architecture Diagrams
Technical Specifications
Integration and Data Flow Designs Evaluate technology options and recommend fit-for-purpose solutions.
Lead architecture discussions and provide technical guidance throughout project lifecycles.
Ensure solutions meet requirements for scalability, reliability, maintainability, and performance.
Support integration initiatives involving enterprise applications, cloud platforms, ERP systems, data platforms, and third-party solutions.
Collaborate with development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and operations teams during implementation.
Participate in architecture reviews, governance processes, and technical risk assessments.
Contribute to technology roadmaps and modernization initiatives. WHAT SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS YOU’LL NEED TO DO THE JOB: 8+ years of experience in IT, including significant experience in solution architecture, systems design, or enterprise application delivery.
Proven experience designing and implementing complex enterprise solutions.
Strong understanding of application architecture, system integrations, APIs, and data flows.
Experience creating detailed architecture and technical design documentation.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
Strong understanding of security, networking, identity management, and infrastructure concepts.
Experience working in Agile and hybrid project delivery environments.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications Experience within shipbuilding, manufacturing, engineering, industrial, defense, or other large-scale operational environments.
Experience with ERP platforms, asset management systems, and operational technology environments.
Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and best practices.
Familiarity with data architecture, analytics, and integration platforms.
Qualified certifications such as: TOGAF
Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect
AWS Solutions Architect
PMP or equivalent Security Requirements Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Controlled Goods Program (CGP) clearance.
Candidates who are Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents and have resided in Canada for the required eligibility period may qualify for clearance.
