Coordinator, Pension and Benefits

Reporting to the Supervisor of Pension & Benefits, this role will provide essential operation and administrative support to the Pension & Benefits team.

The incumbent will:

- Support new hire onboarding by distributing benefits information packages aligned with employee status and affiliation, ensuring accurate and timely completion of required enrolment documentation
- Enroll employees and eligible dependents in applicable benefit plans within the PeopleSoft system, in accordance with appropriate collective agreements, established benefit waiting periods, and organizational policy
- Assist with employee status changes by tracking and processing updates, administering benefit changes in PeopleSoft, communicating impacts to employees and updating OMERS records, as required
- Coordinate OMERS enrolment process for new full-time and eligible non-full-time employees, completing required entries in PeopleSoft system and the OMERS plan administration site, in accordance with eligibility requirements and prescribed enrollment timelines




- The role may support additional pension and benefits administrative activities, as needed
- Maintain program specific centralized inboxes, providing guidance and responding to employee inquiries related to benefits and pension
- Collaborate with Human Resources, Payroll and external benefit carriers, and pension service providers to support effective benefits and pension administration
- Provide back up to Pension & Benefits Analyst and Pension & Benefits Coordinator

The successful applicant will possess:

- Post-secondary diploma in Human Resources or a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated Human Resources experience in a high-volume, multi-deadline, unionized environment, preferably with an emphasis supporting pension and benefits initiatives
- Ability to interpret multiple collective agreements
- Ability to interpret and apply various legislation including but not limited to: Employment Standards Act; Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA); Personal Information Protection & Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA); Pension and Benefits Act, and OMERS Act
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills approach rooted in equitable service to all
- Superior multitasking, organization and customer service skills, coupled with the ability to maintain tactfulness, integrity, and confidentiality
- Proficiency in computer software applications including, MS Office,



HRIS, and OMERS systems and software

Management & Exempt Salary Grade 2

- Salary: $75,023 to $93,779 per annum
