Schedule: Hybrid (2-3 days a week in office)

Location: Toronto

Duration: 6 Months

MUST-HAVE Hard Skills:

1.) Power BI / Tableau – 3 years

2.) Data transformation – 3 years

3.) Python/ MS query -3 years

4.) Strong communication

5.) Degree/Level of Education: Post secondary –undergrad in computer engineering, computer science, or some sort of maths.

6.) Years of Overall Experience: 5-7 years – work force full time 4 years

SOFT SKILLS:

1.) Attention to detail

NICE-TO-HAVE

1.) Experience with stallholder interaction -3 years

2.) Ability to create executive level presentations

3.) master in either business, so an MBA, or computer science, computer engineering – is a nice to have

Data Analyst II

About the Role

The Risk Strategy, Governance & Enablement team is seeking a Data Analyst II (Contract - 6 Months) to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of analytics products and reporting solutions within the Risk organization.

The successful candidate will play a key role in transforming data into actionable insights through Power BI dashboards, data modeling, analytics, and automation. Working closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams, the analyst will contribute to delivering data-driven solutions that improve decision-making, operational efficiency, and reporting capabilities across risk management functions. This role offers exposure to a variety of data domains and opportunities to work on both new development initiatives and enhancements to existing analytics products.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports for operational, management, and executive audiences.
- Analyze, profile, and transform data from multiple sources to create scalable and reusable reporting datasets.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views,



and data models to support analytics and reporting requirements.
- Utilize Python to automate data processing, validation, reconciliation, and reporting workflows.
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather, document, and translate reporting and analytics requirements into technical solutions.
- Perform data quality assessments and investigate data anomalies to ensure accuracy and reliability of analytics products.
- Support the modernization and consolidation of manual reporting processes through automation and self-service analytics capabilities.
- Contribute to Agile delivery practices including backlog refinement, sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Prepare executive-ready presentations and communicate analytical findings, trends, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders.
- Support ongoing maintenance, enhancements, and issue resolution for existing analytics products and dashboards.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, product owners, and business partners to deliver end-to-end analytics solutions.

Required Qualifications

- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or related roles.
- Advanced experience with Power BI, including:
- Data modeling
- DAX measures and calculations
- Power Query
- Dashboard and report development
- Performance optimization




- Strong SQL experience with the ability to write complex queries and work with large datasets.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis, automation, and reporting.
- Experience working with relational databases and enterprise data environments.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

- Experience within Financial Risk Management, Credit Risk, Enterprise Risk, Regulatory Reporting, or Banking domains.
- Familiarity with risk metrics, risk reporting, credit portfolio analytics, or governance reporting.
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure services including Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Synapse, Databricks and Azure Storage Services
- Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies.
- Experience supporting reporting modernization, automation, or analytics transformation initiatives.
- Familiarity with Excel Power Query, Power Pivot, and advanced Excel functions.
- Experience creating executive-level reporting packages and presentations.
- Preferred/Ideal Candidate Background: little bit of experience in data analytic, looking for compsci ENGAGEMENT maths backgrounds in academic education, consultant, senior consultant at maybe some other firms, but their focus was on analytics
