Insight Global is seeking a Sr Mechanical Design Engineer to join a top marine engineering company on a remote basis in Canada.

The successful candidate will support the design and modelling of a dock system, enabling secure transfer of personnel between port facilities and vessels. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing engineering models, construction drawings, and technical documentation while supporting fabrication and production activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop large-scale marine and industrial structures using Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD.
- Create parametric 3D models, assemblies, simulations, visualizations, and engineering documentation.
- Design structural components and mechanical connections subjected to significant static and dynamic loading conditions.
- Ensure designs are suitable for long-term operation in harsh coastal environments, including exposure to saltwater, corrosion, wind, and marine weather conditions.
- Prepare and maintain Approved for Construction (AFC)

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD for complex mechanical and structural design.
- Experience designing: Large structural systems and assemblies, high-load mechanical connections and interfaces, equipment and structures operating in marine or coastal environments

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Marine, offshore, shipbuilding, heavy industrial, or defense industry experience.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility considered an asset.

Compensation $50/hr to $75/hr
