Role Summary:
- Main steel welder/fitter for production. Focus is on complete fabrication from parts to finished steel products (buckets & accessories). Additional work is aluminum tacking to assist with aluminum fabrication, and shop assistance with parts production and shipping/receiving. Business needs will dictate amount of steel welding required.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Steel fitting and welding (tacking and long weld runs) of complete buckets, parts, assemblies, and accessories (reading and interpreting drawings and welding according to dimensional requirements, making bucket square and level).
- Cutting and producing own parts for production from raw material.
- Aluminum fitting and tack welding (reading and interpreting drawings and welding according to dimensional requirements, making product square and level).
- Inspection and correction of work to ensure product has been properly built (welds are proper, no missing welds, product is within tolerance, griding off excess material).
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Rolling bodies and cones for buckets along with Production Supervisor.
- Maintaining workspace cleanliness (organizing tools, sweeping, air blowing shavings, etc.).
- Maintenance of tools (blowing out grinder and circular saw, etc.).
- Make miscellaneous parts as necessary (legs, gussets, backer plates, hangers, etc.).
- Assisting (when possible)
with miscellaneous shop duties (helping unload skids of rings, etc.).
- Organization of tools and parts (organize job-necessary tools, jigs, templates, etc.
- Assist with Shipping and Receiving duties.
Skills:
- Fluent in English.
- Ability to weld various steel and aluminum material sizes (1/8” through 1”) and types (sheet, channel, castings) with a Steel MIG system and Aluminum MIG Water-Cooled Push-Pull system.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Ability to use various tools (tape measure, vice grips, c-clamps, overhead crane, circular saw, angle grinder, chop saw, bandsaw, hydraulic shop press, drill press, electric rolling machine, etc.).
- Flexibility to work on different tasks and projects.
- Able to lift 50+ pounds.
- Forklift Operator’s License.
Employment Information:
- Pay is currently managed through an agency.
Source
Deductions and Income Tax Filing are the responsibility of employee and agency.
- Pay occurs weekly (on Fridays).
- Hours are typically 6:30am to 3:00pm (30 minutes paid spread between morning break + lunch, with ~5 minutes clean-up before each)
- Possibility of additional work hours dependent on business needs.
Pay: From $28.00 per hour
