Responsibilities:
- Greet, assist, and thank customers in a friendly and professional manner, both in person and over the phone.
- Provide knowledgeable product recommendations and assist customers in finding the hardware, tools, and supplies they need.
- Maintain a well-stocked, organized, and clean department, including stocking, labeling, facing, and merchandising products.
- Conduct regular inventory and hole checks to help maintain accurate inventory levels and product availability.
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and replenishing merchandise as required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized sales area.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations, company policies, and procedures.
Requirements / Skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing and walking for extended periods, frequently lifting and carrying merchandise, using ladders, and reaching, bending, twisting, and turning.
- Solid computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and technologies.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations and find effective solutions.
- Ability to work efficiently and remain organized in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Previous knowledge or experience with hardware, hand tools, power tools, and related products is considered an asset.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
