We are recruiting an experiencedDesign Release Engineer (Product Development)to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry.NOTE:OnsiteMust be willing and able to travel to the USA, without restrictions, effective on the start dateValid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving recordRESPONSIBILITIES:Exterior mirrors and system design, development, and engineering releaseDevelopment of vehicle level functional objectives and work to establish and achieve the corresponding component level functional objectivesResponsible for the component/system from initial concept, packaging, hardware development, kinematic/compliance modeling, virtual analysis, and physical validation, through component and vehicle launchOverseeing: component design, FMEA, analysis (CAE/CFD), vehicle packaging (NX), model/drawing integrity (Teamcenter), development, component validation (DVP&R), change management (CCD/WebCN), engineering bill of material (EBOM), build support, issue management, joint design, root cause analysis, solution development, and in-person support for associated testing, issue root cause, plant support, etc.Directly involved with supplier design efforts and design reviews to ensure the supplier design meets expectations as listed in Stellantis specificationEnsure systems comply with quality, performance, timing, weight, and cost objectivesCollaborate with advanced team to develop, define, and package system designs prior to sourcingServe as regional on-site Mechatronics component supportDevelop and maintain core boundary diagrams, interface matrices, parameter diagrams, Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA),



and Design Validation Plan and Report (DVP&R)Support system integration and proper function with surrounding components, network communications, and Electronic Control Units (ECUs)Perform benchmarking, competitive analysis, and investigations on new technologySupport quality and warranty initiatives with problem solving, technical specifications, and evaluationsEnsure part variation and failure modes are addressed in an expedited way to improve customer satisfactionSupport business case studies and develop creative ways of meeting required functional objectives and technical specifications with reduced investmentPerform technical evaluations during the Request for Quote (RFQ) processMeeting all vehicle program milestones and conducting all releasing processes related to the component and its interface within the vehicleApply design best practices and lessons learned from past product developmentsInterface with EE systems engineering in the development of vehicle functional (VF) specifications and work with suppliers on Requirements Analysis (RAR).Review and approve hardware releases/changes including DVP&Rs.Support efforts to meet warranty targets and relevant quality service field initiativesCommunicate component product development status on a weekly basis via DRE authored and maintained open issues list/project timelines and technical presentationsEnsure component level regulatory compliance requirements are met by coordinating with suppliers and internal regulatory compliance teams.Direct suppliers in developing, testing, and releasing hardware to meet vehicle level functional objectives and sub-system level behavior objectivesREQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical/mechatronics engineeringMinimum 5 years of product development experience with mechatronicsUnderstanding of kinetics, electro-mechanical systems & componentsControl logic, signals and system interaction knowledgeProficiency in EBAM, Part Release, WebCM, NX, and Teamcenter for CADStrong leadership skillsCommunication skills to present concepts to cross-functional teams at all levelsAbility to manage competing priorities and high volumes of informationCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS:$40.00 - $44.00/hour (depending on experience)Paid Benefits after 90 days (individual and family) – extended medical, out-of-country coverage, dental etc.Pension eligibility, with employer match, after 1 full year of work (open enrollment every October)MEDA offers an excellent referral bonus.
