Become a Cook with Lookout Housing and Health Society in Courtenay, BC. This full time role focuses on preparing meals and maintaining high standards of kitchen cleanliness. As a permanent member of Lookout’s team, you will report to the Site Manager.

Your responsibilities include cooking meals, overseeing kitchen volunteers, and ensuring a protected environment. Successful candidates should demonstrate solid communication, the ability to work in diverse settings, and a commitment to health and safety standards. Key Responsibilities:
Cook and serve meals, snacks, and beverages
Maintain kitchen and dining area cleanliness
Work with kitchen volunteers to enhance operations
Follow specified menus and manage supplies
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

Requirements:
Minimum Grade 12 and Cooking Diploma with 2 years’ experience
Must have FOODSAFE Certificate and Occupational First Aid Level 1
Experience with institutions and cost analysis is beneficial
Ability to manage workload effectively
Strong physical and mental ability for work tasks
