Store Manager -Safari Market | Full-Time | Saskatoon, SK 120 Apex Street #15.

Safari Market is looking for a responsible, organized, and motivated Store Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Saskatoon location. We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills who can manage staff, maintain high store standards, oversee inventory and sales, and ensure customers receive excellent service. The ideal candidate is dependable, hands-on, and comfortable taking ownership of store operations.

Duties:

- Oversee the daily operations of the store and ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently
- Lead, supervise, train, and support cashiers, grocery clerks, and other store employees
- Prepare staff schedules and coordinate shift coverage
- Delegate daily tasks and monitor employee performance
- Ensure excellent customer service and professionally handle customer questions, concerns, and complaints
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate restocking and product orders
- Receive and verify deliveries and ensure products are properly stored
- Monitor product quality, pricing, labelling, and expiry dates
- Maintain organized, well-stocked, and attractive shelves and displays
- Oversee cash register procedures, cash handling, refunds, and end-of-day cash reconciliation
- Monitor store sales and assist with controlling expenses, waste, and inventory losses
- Help prevent theft, product loss, and unnecessary waste
- Ensure the store is clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards
- Communicate operational issues, staffing needs, inventory concerns, and other important updates to ownership
- Assist with promotions, merchandising, and initiatives to improve store sales




- Step in to assist with cashier, stocking, receiving, or other duties when required

Qualifications & Skills:

- Previous experience in retail, grocery, customer service, or store operations is preferred, at least 2-3 years.
- Previous supervisory or management experience is strongly preferred
- Solid leadership and team-management skills
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills
- Robust organizational and time-management abilities
- Comfortable handling cash, POS systems, inventory, and basic administrative tasks
- Able to solve problems and make responsible decisions independently
- Reliable, punctual, professional, and accountable
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities
- Basic computer skills
- Familiarity with African, Caribbean, and international grocery products is an asset, but not required

The successful candidate should be proactive rather than waiting to be told what needs to be done, comfortable leading a team, attentive to details, and committed to creating a clean, welcoming, and well-run shopping environment. Must have flexible availability, including evenings/weekends and holidays.
