Job Overview
DRC Live is seeking a Strategic Growth Manager to lead the development, strategic partnerships, and growth of its live events portfolio.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for identifying, developing, and advancing elevated live experiences across Western Canada and beyond. The position is designed for an entrepreneurial leader who can build strong external partnerships, assess new opportunities, and remain actively involved in bringing event concepts from initial idea through commercial development and execution.
DRC Live creates, partners in, and invests in elevated, memorable moments. Its portfolio may include intimate dinners, galas, charitable events, concerts, festivals, sporting experiences, and other premium cultural and hospitality-driven productions.
Reporting directly to the President and CEO, the Strategic Growth Manager will lead the development of the DRC Live opportunity pipeline, partnership strategy, commercial planning, and event portfolio. The role will work closely with venues, sponsors, producers, charitable organizations, hospitality partners, suppliers, internal teams, and other stakeholders to develop experiences that are strategically aligned, financially viable, and memorable for guests.
This role combines relationship development and creative opportunity identification with commercial discipline, project leadership, and financial accountability. The Strategic Growth Manager will lead from the front, representing DRC Live in the market, building senior-level relationships, and ensuring approved opportunities progress with clear ownership, structure, and follow-through.
The position offers the opportunity to play a meaningful role in shaping DRC Live from an early stage and developing a portfolio of signature experiences that support the continued growth of the broader DRC Group.
Requirements for This Position
Minimum seven years of progressive experience in live events, strategic partnerships,
sponsorship, hospitality, entertainment, sport, festivals, or experiential marketing.
Proven ability to identify, develop, negotiate, and convert commercially valuable partnership and event opportunities.
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering complex live events, sponsorship programs, hospitality experiences, or experiential initiatives.
- Established relationships across the events, entertainment, hospitality, venue, sponsorship, charitable, tourism, sport, or corporate partnership sectors.
- Strong understanding of event economics, including budgeting, ticketing, sponsorship, hospitality,
- production costs, revenue-sharing, profitability, and return on investment.
- Experience developing event proposals, partnership models, budgets, forecasts, and financial recommendations.
- Advanced negotiation and relationship-management skills, with the ability to influence senior
- partners and stakeholders.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple events, partnerships, and commercial priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a team-oriented team.
- Strong financial and data literacy, with experience monitoring budgets, forecasts, revenue, and performance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Valid Alberta driver’s licence, access to a reliable vehicle, and a valid passport.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic growth and commercial development of DRC Live.
- Build and manage a qualified pipeline of event, partnership, sponsorship, and joint-venture opportunities.
- Identify and assess event concepts based on brand alignment, audience potential, financial viability, operational requirements, partnership value, and risk.
- Build and steward senior-level relationships with venues, producers, promoters, sponsors, hospitality groups, charitable and sporting organizations, artists, suppliers, and corporate partners.
- Lead partnership discussions from initial outreach through negotiation, contracting, planning, execution, and renewal.
- Develop event concepts, commercial proposals, sponsorship packages, presentations, and partnership models.
- Develop event budgets, revenue projections, profitability models, and return-on-investment assessments.
- Identify and grow revenue opportunities across sponsorship, ticketing, hospitality, food and beverage, vendor participation, brand activation, private-client programming, and ancillary channels.
- Collaborate with finance to monitor budgets, commitments, revenue-sharing arrangements, expenses, settlements, and profitability.
- Establish clear project plans, responsibilities, timelines, budgets, deliverables, and approval processes.
- Coordinate internal and external teams across production, hospitality, creative, marketing, sponsorship, ticketing, logistics, programming, guest experience, and operations.
- Ensure every event reflects DRC Live standards for quality, hospitality, detail, and guest experience.
- Ensure required contracts, insurance, permits, licensing,
safety plans, venue requirements, and partner commitments are in place.
- Lead post-event reviews covering financial results, partner performance, guest feedback, sponsorship delivery, and future recommendations.
- Facilitate collaboration between DRC Live and other areas of DRC Group while maintaining clear divisional ownership and accountability.
- Represent DRC Live at industry meetings, partner presentations, community engagements, venues, and live events.
Assets for This Position
- Post-secondary education in business, event management, hospitality, marketing, communications, entertainment, or a related discipline.
- Experience developing concerts, festivals, sporting events, galas, charitable events, premium dinners, or luxury hospitality experiences.
- Experience negotiating joint ventures, co-productions, sponsorships, and revenue-sharing agreements.
- Established relationships with venues, promoters, producers, sponsors, hospitality operators, charitable organizations, corporate partners, or sporting organizations.
- Experience managing event budgets and reporting on profitability and return on investment.
- Experience leading agencies, contractors, producers, suppliers, and other external partners.
- Experience within luxury, beverage alcohol, hospitality, entertainment, tourism, sport, or experiential marketing.
- Experience developing premium guest, sponsor, private-client, or hospitality programs.
