We’re Hiring: Structural Engineer-In-Training (Heavy Civil Infrastructure)

Harbourside Engineering Consultants (HEC) is seeking a detail-oriented Structural Engineer to support the design and delivery of heavy civil infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to engineering projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Location

100% on-site in our Stratford, Prince Edward Island office.

Key Responsibilities

- Analysis and design of bridges, marine structures, cofferdams, and retaining walls.
- Construction and erection engineering for structural projects.
- Preliminary design development and option analysis.
- Preparation of drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimates.




- Writing technical engineering reports.
- Conducting site visits, construction reviews, and attending project meetings
- Preparing proposals.
- Coordinating with structural drafting teams.
- Managing project assignments.
- Supporting business development efforts alongside senior staff.

Qualifications

- Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Engineer in Training (EIT) in a Canadian province.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s considered an asset).
- Strong technical background in structural engineering.
- Familiarity with CSA S6 (Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code).
- Working knowledge of structural analysis tools and finite element modeling software.

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
