This Jr. Accountant role supports the finance team by processing daily financial transactions, assisting with cost tracking, and maintaining accurate financial records. The position helps ensure timely reporting, supports budgeting and forecasting activities, and contributes to smooth financial operations.What You’ll Do HerePerform administrative duties ensuring all documentation regarding timesheets,
equipment usage and personnel allowances are recorded as required.Process receiving in the accounting system in a timely manner.Create purchase requisitions ensuring correct coding and details.Process AP invoices, obtain correct signatures and upload them to the system.Upload documents into the document control system.Assist with month‑end close processes (preparation of journal entries, recurring entries and accruals).Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations and coordinate with Aecon divisions and shared services to resolve variances.Handle intercompany reconciliations, confirm balances and coordinate transactions.Assist with internal and external audit activities as required.Assist with annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.Liaise with other Aecon departments as required.Maintain respectful, effective communication and relationships with management and staff at all levels.Prepare HST, GST, PST, QST returns, filing and reconciliation.Conduct account analysis and prepare working papers and schedules.Prepare invoices for reimbursement of seconded staff expenses on Joint Venture projects.What You Bring To The TeamPost‑secondary education in Finance and/or Accounting preferred.1+ years of office‑related experience with knowledge of purchasing,
accounts payable and payroll preferred.Actively pursuing CPA designation.Basic accounting knowledge is required.Intermediate level of computer skills in MS Word and MS Excel.Experience with SAP is an asset.Strong communication skills, ability to deal tactfully with employees, visitors and customers.Team player, able to work independently and prioritize workload.Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.Adaptable to a flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines.Security Clearance and Background Checks Required.CompensationPay Range: $50,000 - $60,000. Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions.
