Do you enjoy working with children? Are you creative, dependable, and comfortable leading activities and discussions? Our Religious Education program is looking for a Room Lead for the 2026-27 church year.

We are a Unitarian Universalist congregation, which means we are a diverse spiritual community that welcomes people from many different religious backgrounds, including those who are Christian, atheist, pagan, Buddhist, humanist, spiritual-but-not-religious, and more. Rather than teaching one set of beliefs, we help children explore big questions, develop their own values, and learn how to be caring members of their communities.

In practice, that means we encourage curiosity, kindness, respect for differences, care for one another, and care for the world around us.

What You'll Do

- Lead one classroom of children, either:

Chalice Room (ages 6-8), or Wonder Room (ages 8-12)
- Facilitate stories, discussions,



games, crafts, and other activities
- Create a welcoming and inclusive workplace for all children
- Work with a volunteer classroom assistant
- Preparing for the following week's lesson
- Help keep our RE spaces organized and welcoming by managing craft supplies, classroom materials, toys, and storage areas.

What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children
- Confidence leading a small group
- A warm, inclusive, and welcoming approach
- Reliability and the ability to commit to regular Sunday attendance
- An openness to diverse beliefs and perspectives

Position Details
- Must be 18 years old or older
- 3 hours every Sunday morning - 10:00-1:00
- $18.75/hour
- September through June
- Vulnerable Sector Check required
