Responsible for serving customers, preparing and handling hot prepared foods, maintaining food quality and cleanliness, and assisting with the daily operation of the hot foods section.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve hot prepared foods to customers in a friendly and efficient manner, making guests feel welcome.
- Portion, package, weigh, and label food items accurately.
- Reheat and prepare food according to store procedures.
- Maintain proper food temperatures and follow food safety procedures.
- Replenish food trays and display items as needed.
- Keep food displays, counters, utensils, and work areas clean and organized.
- Assist customers with menu and product questions.
- Operate cash registers or POS systems when required.
- Handle payments and process customer orders accurately.
- Monitor food levels and notify supervisors when supplies or products are running low.
- Check food quality, appearance, and freshness throughout the day.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food supplies.
- Follow health, safety, sanitation,
and workplace procedures.
- Assist other food court or supermarket departments as needed.
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisors or management.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of and ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Friendly and positive attitude.
- Good customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced food service workplace and multi-task.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks.
- Basic food preparation and handling skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team and under supervision's instructions.
- Previous food service, restaurant, or supermarket experience is an asset.
Pay: $17.60 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 – 43.0 per week
