Concordia University is looking for experienced, hands-on Supervisors, Operations to join our Facilities & Operations team and help keep our campuses safe, functional, efficient and ready for the people who use them every day.
We are currently recruiting for three Supervisor, Operations positions:

These are exciting opportunities for experienced facilities, building operations and trades professionals who enjoy leading teams, solving complex operational challenges and making a tangible difference in a dynamic university environment.
What you'll do
Reporting to a Property Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operations of a team within a portfolio of university assets. You will play a key role in ensuring safe, reliable and high-quality building services, while balancing operational priorities, customer needs, resources and long-term asset performance.
Your responsibilities will include
- Lead and supervise operational and trades personnel in a unionized environment, fostering a strong culture of teamwork, safety, service and accountability.
- Plan, prioritize and assign work while ensuring the timely and high-quality completion of preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Monitor building and asset conditions, identify maintenance, improvement and replacement needs, and contribute to long-term asset lifecycle planning.
- Coordinate system shutdowns, service interruptions and other operational activities while minimizing impacts on students, employees and visitors.
- Collaborate with Property Managers, project teams and external contractors on maintenance, installations, projects and service contracts.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, regulations, health and safety requirements and requirements from external authorities.
- Support emergency response and contingency planning and act as an in office operational resource when incidents occur.
- Provide technical guidance to trades staff and support projects through planning, execution, monitoring and close-out.
- Contribute to conservation, efficiency and continuous-improvement initiatives and identify technologies or practices that can improve equipment and building performance.
- Manage budgets, procurement, materials and contracted services, including contributing to capital investment and deferred maintenance planning.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, performance management and succession planning within the team.
- Prepare incident reports, identify root causes and contribute to lessons learned and corrective actions.
What we're looking for
We're looking for leaders who combine strong technical knowledge with excellent people, organizational and problem-solving skills.
You will bring
- A three-year technical DEC in a field related to the responsibilities and 7+ years of related experience.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience, ideally leading teams in a unionized environment.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices and related software.
- Experience with maintenance management systems such as Maximo.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, prioritize competing demands and deliver work on time and within budget.
- Strong project management, organizational and communication skills.
- A collaborative leadership style and the ability to build effective relationships with employees, contractors, project teams and internal clients.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements.
- Level 4 spoken English and French and Level 3 written English and French.
- Intermediate proficiency with Word and Excel.

Salary: $96,048 – $111,392 per annum

Important information
While these positions have a regular daytime schedule, incumbents are required to participate in an on-call rotation, which may result in extended work shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays, particularly for emergencies and University events.
