Job purposeResponsible for stakeholder management and influencing key decision making to support the execution of the finished goods packaging work plan. The individual will serve as a strategic advisor and subject matter expert, driving process improvement initiatives and promoting a culture of continuous improvement across the organization. This role focuses on developing and implementing best practices, methodologies, and frameworks to enhance operational performance and efficiency.Duties and responsibilitiesCreate and implement a comprehensive packaging operations strategy that aligns with organizational objectives and drives continuous improvementEnsure production requirements are met to satisfy or exceed forecast demandParticipate in the development and implementation of performance improvement strategies to increase productivity and improve quality.Provide leadership and motivation to initiate creative thinking to support continuous improvementConduct performance reviews and set development plan for Packaging Team MembersInitiate training and development programs to improve performance on a continual basisConduct in-depth analysis of current processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements to optimize performance including identifying opportunities to leverage technology such as process automation to enable efficiencies.Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies to develop and implement robust improvement initiativesWork with the other shift managers and the Director,
Operations to determine the department budget.Ensure the shift shop floor control processes are being monitored and closed at the completion of orders.Ensure all shift personnel operate within a safe work environment and work in compliance with Sun Pharma's Health, Safety and Environmental policiesParticipate and lead Packaging related non-Conformance related investigationsComplete and implement Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA)Participate in internal, customer and regulatory auditsUtilize data analytics to measure performance, identify trends, and support decision-making processesDocument and share best practices across the organization to foster a culture of excellence.Provide guidance and mentorship to teams facilitating knowledge transfer and skill development.Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and support for operational excellence initiatives.Support organizational change efforts related to process improvements and operational changes.Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of improvement initiatives.Flexibility to work shift schedules when requiredOther duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Packaging Operations Management, or a related field; advanced degree is a robust assetMinimum of 7-10 years’ experience in an operations role within the pharmaceutical industry, including 5 years in a supervisory capacity.Six Sigma training or certification is an assetWorking conditionsThe Packaging / Compounding areas are air-conditioned. As this is a Pharmaceutical operation,
it’s necessary to wear specialized garments, such as hairnets, beard covers and shoe covers (where applicable) and adhere to GMP Gowning requirements.Expect to be “on call “after hours to address issues requiring immediate resolutionPhysical requirementsOffice basedThe presently-anticipated base compensation pay range for this position is $111,000to $136,000. Actual base compensation may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to geographical location and experience. Employees are eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs which include medical, dental coverage and the employee assistance program.
