POSITION SUMMARYRobotic Programmer Operators at MIC are primarily responsible for the programming and production of welded assemblies that meet customer requirements in quality and output in a secure fashion. To meet this requirement Robotic Welders must program and operate equipment and work with numerous types of associated consumables.ResponsibilitiesProgram and maintain program accuracy, and efficiency in weld cells.Robotically weld parts together according to drawings and specifications. All Robotic operators must use tape measures and/or verniers to assure the proper location of weldsEnsure all tasks are performed in the allotted time providedMust work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, Company rules, policies and proceduresMust use or wear equipment, protective devices or clothing as required by the companyClean all parts with debris before application of weldsAssemble parts according to provided drawings and specificationsInspection of all welds to ensure conformance to specificationsAssure that 1st off/1st Part is inspected and meets Quality Assurance requirementsRemoval of completed parts from work area and preparation for next production stageCompletion of data entry and/or paperwork as requiredBasic maintenance of Welding and Set-up equipment in addition to ensuring gas and wire as required for the following shiftMaintain proper MIC housekeeping standardsMust notify lead hand and/or supervisors of all dysfunctional and/or unsafe equipment or work practicesAll other duties as assigned by Supervisors and ManagersCompetencies (Job Knowledge/Skill, Education and related experience)Experience in programming, setting-up and maintaining robotic weld cellsExperience in the use of Tape Measures, Vernier and other measuring toolsRobotic welding experience requiredMIG welding experience requiredExperience with Metal Fabrication an assetAbility to read drawings, blueprints and specificationsMathematical aptitudeAbility to work independently or with supervisionWorking ConditionsWorking in a plant environmentFrequent distractions and interruptionsMultiple demands, challenging, fast paced, team orientated, environment can be noisyEffort - PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDSConstant standing, walking, bending and lifting (light to heavy) and occasional climbingWarm/Cold temperaturesCommunication with Lead Hand, Supervisors and ManagementOvertime as requiredPersonal Protective Equipment RequirementsSteel toe safety shoesSafety glassesEar PlugsWelding GlovesMartinrea International Inc. is proud to provide employment accommodation during the recruitment process.
