About the Opportunity

Are you looking for a meaningful way to contribute to early childhood education with the flexibility of a casual schedule? The Centre Wellington Child Care Co-op has opened two brand-new, licensed non-profit sites serving toddlers and preschoolers. We are looking for dependable Supply Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECEs) and Early Childhood Assistants (ECAs) to support our team.

As a supply educator, you are the "helping hand" that ensures our community continues to thrive even when regular staff are away. You will have the opportunity to work across our two sites, gaining experience in a supportive environment guided by a "working" Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities

- Dynamic Support: Step into Toddler (15 children) or Preschool (16 children) rooms to support high-quality programming based on the How Does Learning Happen? framework.
- Team Integration: Work seamlessly alongside our permanent RECE/ECA teams to maintain classroom flow and safety.
- Engagement: Build quick, professional rapport with children and families, ensuring a consistent and welcoming experience for our cooperative members.
- Health & Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in our freshly renovated facilities, strictly adhering to all CCEYA and Public Health regulations.
- Mentorship:



Act as a positive role model for student educators and volunteers present in the classroom.

Qualifications

- RECEs (preferred): Member in valuable standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
- For ECAs: Diploma/Certificate in a related field and/or relevant experience in a licensed childcare setting.
- Clearance: Current Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) and up-to-date immunizations (including TB test).
- Safety: Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C. Safe food handlers certificate.
- Physicality: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, sit on the floor, bend, and move quickly to ensure child safety.
