Vector Geomatics Land Surveying Ltd. is a locally owned and operated professional land surveying company in Alberta & BC, which provides a wide range of skilled land surveying services in the municipal, oil and gas, development, and public sector. We are currently looking for a motivated, independent, and organized person with excellent communication skills to join our team.

Job Summary

Vector Geomatics has an immediate full-time position available for a Survey Assistant based in our Chilliwack office.

The candidate will assist a field crew for municipal, engineering, topographic, and legal surveys

Duties

- Assist with field data collection using surveying instruments and GPS equipment to gather precise measurements.
- Support surveyors in setting up and calibrating equipment such as total stations, GPS units, and levels.
- Prepare survey drawings and maps utilizing AutoCAD, CAD software, and GIS tools like ArcGIS.
- Manage collected data by inputting, organizing, and maintaining databases to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
- Support the creation of detailed reports, sketches, and documentation for project records.
- Collaborate with team members to verify data integrity and troubleshoot technical issues in the field or office.




- Contribute to project planning by assisting with site reconnaissance and preliminary assessments.

Skills

- Must be punctual, proactive and a hard worker
- Willing to travel and work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to learn new technologies, follow instructions, and contribute ideas
- Actively participate in company health and safety program
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s license
- Previous surveying experience or technical studies in Geomatics is considered an asset
- Valid certification in Basic First Aid is considered an asset

Vector offers competitive compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary range for this position is $24 to $28 per hour. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, with extended health, and RRSP.
